- US Housing Crash Continues.

- An Anarchist FAQ Webpage.
Version 12.1.
[1]
Who'd have thought that anarchists & a
socialist1.1 would agree?
In particular, I enjoyed
Section C - What are the myths of capitalist economics?.
2.0.1 Monday, February 11
- a rant by ``mimus'' about
the 2008 Democratic candidates in the 2008
presidential election.
- ``Where Friedman Went Wrong''.
By Antal E. Fekete.
2006 November.
[5]
I read Fekete's essay for the first time in
2007 September. It's excellent. Also, if
it really was written before 2006 November,
then his prediction of a ``credit collapse''
was remarkable.
He discusses more than the predicted
credit collapse. He also discusses
Milton Friedman's concept of floating
currency, problems with that concept,
credit, self-liquidating credit & how
it was used for payrolls. Fascinating &
educational.

By Mohammed Abbas.
2008 February 17.
[2]
I remember hearing that the U.S. military
declined to clean up lots of weapons stashes
after invading Iraq. Could Shi'ite militias
be using these, instead
of newly imported weapons financed by Iran?
If so, the claim of ``Iran-backed'' weapons
is just more war-making on the part of the
United States, a further claim in the US's
attempt to do whatever it can to make the
public approve of invading Iran.

Some people are asking President Bush to
lift the embargo against Cuba. Also,
Bush says that he won't lift the embargo.
- The Cuba embargo stays: Bush
[24]. By Richard Sisk..
2008 February 20.
- White House rejects calls for an end to embargo
[6]. By Suzanne Goldenberg..
2008 February 20.
Some people, plus Bush, forget that the embargo is a law, enacted by
Congress in 1962, & the president has little to say about it.
Congress may lift the embargo, but the president cannot.
From what [6] says,
it sounds like even 100 members of Congress
have forgotten that they, not the president,
make the laws.

Sounds like a good idea at first, but hasn't the FTC unleashed
privatization & free markets on the resources under its protection
in the past decade? If so, submitting wireless carriers to the FTC
could be a step towards deregulation, & if we have a problem now,
we'll have a worse problem then.
